Friends that joined Rich on the show were; rock writer Deanna Adams (Rock & Roll and the Northcoast Connection), the late Jim Girard (former editor of the Scene Magazine, songwriter), radio personality Ravenna Miceli and FM radio’s legendary John Gorman. The Four Seasons Medley – Love Affair’s record label (Radio Records) had a hit single called “Stars On 45” which was a medley of Beatle songs. The label decided their follow-up release was going to be a medley of Four Season’s songs. Remembering that Love Affair used to do a medley before becoming a concert act, Radio Records, in 1981, asked the band to anonymously record the next “Stars On 45” single. The band cut a demo of how they would do it. The label loved it and as they were about to record the final version, every other label had jumped on the “Stars On” bandwagon and a Four Seasons medley had already been released. |

Brian Sez – It was December of 1980; Love Affair had just finished touring in support of their first album and hit single, the Cleveland Browns were in the play-offs looking Superbowl bound, and the band was enjoying its first ever vacation. Their manager had this bright idea to turn their hit into a Browns song. So at 10:00AM they entered After Dark Studios and recorded this version. They finished by 1:00PM and by 3:00PM it was on every Cleveland radio station. Because the Browns never made it to the Superbowl that year it was never released but is now available here on line. |
